American Medium is proud to present D.O.E., the debut exhibition of FREEMAN Gallery curated by K.J. Freeman.
Adjacent to the threat of imminent cuts to federal arts programs and funding, FREEMAN Gallery presents the work of two New York artists who attended public arts high schools: Cheyenne Julien, graduate of Art and Design High School Class of 2012, and Kevin Evans, graduate of Edward R. Murrow High School Class of 2008. Both were born and raised in New York City.
FREEMAN Gallery is a community art space dedicated to critical and creative practitioners of color. As such, the gallery will operate cultural programming in addition to its exhibitions, with an aim at provoking dialogue and exchange.
FREEMAN Gallery will open in September 2017.
